Johannes Broadwood 1793 square piano, the sycamore nameboard inscribed 'Johannes Broadwood London 1793 Patent/Great Pulteney Street golden Square,' with inked serial number 2277 to right of highest treble tuning pin, also lightly incised to reverse of nameboard '2277', the 61 key five octave keyboard with ivory covers and solid ebony sharps, in a case comprising central mahogany panels with satinwood borders, divided by repeating ebony banded borders, the cover lifting via hinge and supported by two mahogany tapered lid sticks, with different opening variations to create desired playing effect from soft to loud, the piano resting above a base with lower sheet music storage shelf on four square tapered legs on brass casters, includes Zuckermann peg tuning tool, older screw driver type tool with wooden handle, spare strings, reproduction dust cover and key, case measures 87 cm, 159 cm, 54 cm
