Fine George III Thomas hunter Jr longcase clock, c.1765, the 12 inch (30.5 cm) arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring displaying black etched Roman numeral hour markers and Arabic minute markers, surrounding a gilt matted center with makers plaque reading 'Tho. Hunter Junr/London,' subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture window, within four pierced gilt brass spandrels of c-scroll and foliate design, the arch containing a circular strike/silent dial, set within an architectural shaped hood with pitched pediment and circular gilt wood and ebonized bezel dial surround, set between twin Roman Tuscan style pillar supports with burr walnut veneered spandrels, resting on an unusual columnar or pillar mahogany veneered case with elongated rectangular convex trunk door with ivory escutcheon, on a rectangular plinth base with lower trim molding, height 242 cm, width 57.5 cm, depth 29 cm, includes two weights, pendulum and winding key
