Victorian sterling silver & leather Norwegian belt by Louis Dee, hallmarked London, 1883, Ld (Louis Dee), featuring a central quick release silver buckle to the front, nicely engraved with monogram, each leather panel set with sterling silver plates studded with node rivets to each corner, with a ring link set to each side (originally used for attaching accessory swivels), terminating at a conventional buckle to the rear with adjustable eyelets to the leather endpiece, total length 69 cm, width 3 cm catalogue note: this style of 'Norwegian' belt was a fashion promoted by Thornhill & Co (founded 1734) and was popular with members of aristocracy and royalty.
