14ct gold mourning locket, unmarked (tested 14ct), of watch case form, the cover beautifully engraved in stylised acanthus scrolling, surrounding a central reserve engraved with initials 'Jms', opening to reveal an interior gold filigree and hair arrangement, with foliate scroll surround, with faux crown and loop to side of case, total weight 16.40gm, length 5 cm, case diameter 3.4 cm published: "How the watch was worn, a fashion for 500 Years', by Genevieve Cummins, colour plate704, page 213.
