Pair of ladies 16th century Spanish women's stiletto daggers (replicas), height 52 cm, width 38 cm, frame, leather sheaths commissioned by Toledo master swordsmith Antonio Arellano in Toledo in 2015, mounted on a custom made special mounted open display frame. This mid-16th century weapon is a type of poignard (dagger) known as a stiletto, meaning, 'Little Steel' in Italian. Taking their cue from this elegant but deadly weapon, ladies' shoes with long, thin heels have also become known as stilettos.
