Description:
A large and early heavy baluster goblet, English circa1690, conical, crizzled bowl, Inverted baluster with tear stem, and a conical, folded foot. Height 265 mm, Foot/Bowl 138/125 mm. A very important early baluster, still showing Venetian influence in design. An identical example, but without the crizzling, was featured on The Antiques Roadshow in 2016. It was valued at GBP4,000 and later sold for GBP7,500 at auction. Reference: L.M.Bickerton, 52
