A Dutch roemer, or roman, Dutch circa 1680, ovoid bowl, hollow section with strawberry prunts over bottom section made up of a glass coil stem all in green soda glass. 14 cm high. Rare early Dutch roemer of similar form to English 17the century rummers. The coiled stem marks it as an early example. This is the shape that became the long-stemmed rummer, and then the modern Hock glass.
