A stipple engraved Newcastle light baluster - Hoolart, English circa 1760, round funnel bowl, light baluster stem, with angular knop over a short plain section, over a flattened knop, over a short plain section, over an inverted baluster with air tears, over a basal knop, and a conical foot. Height 185 mm, Foot/Stem/Bowl 80/10/73 mm. Provenance: Stipple engraving attributed to Gillis Hoolaart by Dr J D van Dam at the Rijksmuseum. See last pictures for letter and another example.
