Description:
Enfield Rifle musket 3 band pattern 1853 first model, .577 cal. Lock marked with 'Tower 1854' and a crown over 'VR', 39' barrel, bore dirty, metal work with much finish thinning with age, action is good, rifle has ramrod. Woodwork very good for age with nice grain, ½ inch chip at toe of stock. Stamped in to butt '148 LVAC' and 'HE' at wrist. Overall, a very nice example. Provenance: NZAHAA, 17/07/2010, Lot 182, $3145. No firearms licence required.
