A violin labelled P. Michele Storini 320 Fecit Anno 1926, P. Michele Storini (trade name of Charles Collin Mezin 1870-1934) with even-grained spruce top and two-piece flamed maple back, light brown varnish, fitted with new pegs, Despiau bridge, new sound post, French ebony tail piece and chin rest, together with new Obligato strings. Instrument only. Provenance: from the stock-in-trade of retired Melbourne violin restorer and shop owner Brenton Fyfield ('The Violineri', first established in Camberwell in 1986). Length 58 cm
