An unlabelled Mittenwald violin with a carved head, circa 1900 with plain maple back, spruce top, golden yellow varnish, with new ebony pegs, ebony tailpiece and chin rest, Despiau bridge, new sound post and Obligato strings. Instrument only. Provenance: from the stock-in-trade of retired Melbourne violin restorer and shop owner Brenton Fyfield ('The Violineri', first established in Camberwell in 1986). Length 59 cm
