A Japanese Satsuma Pottery vase on stand by Zenkozan, late Meiji period (1868-1912) finely painted in enamels and gilt to the ovoid body with numerous groups of figures gathering for a festival, in extensive gardens with an abundance of blossoming cherry trees, pavilions and mountains in the background, the neck decorated with a wide scrolling foliate border upon a black ground, the foot rim with successive borders, signed to the underside Zenkozan in gilt script onto black square with large gilt Shimazu crest above, on a carved and pierced wooden stand, in its velvet lined fitted box.
