A large terracotta sculpture of a boy by Arthur Fleischmann Slovakia/Australia circa 1950 37 cm high 22 cm wide, Born in Bratislava and trained as a doctor, Fleischmann became a well-known sculptor in Vienna in the 1930s. He moved to Australia in 1939 and to Britain in the late 1940s, undertaking a number of public commissions in both countries. Working initially in ceramic and bronze, during the 1960s and 70s he worked extensively with perspex.A museum to him opened in Bratislava in 2001, 37 cm high 22 cm wide
