Description:
A 17th/18th century Indian parrying shield, iron with two layers of brass. With a large dome in centre and four smaller bosses, iron rimmed, a 23 cm spear point blade and a quillon issue from the rim. The reverse with two layers of brass and rings where a pad once was fixed. Diameter 30 cm. Provenance: Ex. Militaria Auction, Wellington 2018.
