A Japanese dagger (Aikuchi) and scabbard, the wooden scabbard (Saya) carved depicting the busts of 16 warrior-monks with remanants of gilding, and red lacquer and gilt dragon to one short side; the Koiguchi (mouth of the saya) is of mixed metal depicting whip and clouds; a silver foil covered habaki (collar) with textured design; the wooden Tsuka (handle of sword) resembling a tree trunk with bronze and gilt Menuki of immortals to each side; the Kashia (pommel) is of mixed metal and depicts a standing war god. Length of blade 31 cm. Overall 48 cm.
