Jf Bautte & Co. Old & enamel ladies pocket watch with gold dial, all-over intricate foliated design and central flower design to back. On gold fob chain, with key. Total weight 28 grams. Internal back plate marked F.F.Bautte & Co. Geneve, Aiguilles, no: 48843. Jean-Francois Bautte (1772-1837) was a well-known watchmaker in Geneva, Switzerland. He was well known for making one of the first ultra-thin watches, as well as adding lavish decoration to his timepieces. He created jewelry and watches for Queen Victoria, as well as the Duchess of Clermont-Tonnerre.
