A Longquan celadon 'Kinuta' mallet vase, probably late song to early Yuan Dynasty the fine mallet-shaped vase, well-potted in two halves with a cylindrical body rising from a low foot rim to a canted shoulder sweeping up to a tall gently tapering neck, applied with a pair of stylised phoenix handles, all below a wide everted dished rim with a slightly upturned lip, covered overall with an even sea green glaze draining to a paler tone at the edges, the unglazed foot rim burnt an orange colour in the firing.
