A Chinese export famille rose turquoise ground floor vase, late Qing, c1900. The large Cantonese export famille rose vase of baluster form with trumpet neck and lion handles, the shoulders with applied chilongs, with main body decoration of two panels of butterflies and birds on blooming branches and butterflies, surrounded by floral sprays, trailing foliage, shou patterning (longevity) and auspicious vases reserved upon a turquoise ground, with yellow ground borders of pink and green enamel flower heads and scrolling foliage.
