A rare 19th century Grand Tour marble covered miniature commode, the top and side with inlaid parquetry panels, the serpentine front with three full width drawers with red lacquered interiors, gilt metal swing handles and crowned scroll escutcheons. Carved wooden bracket feet flanking the central shell to the frieze. 25.5 x 16 x 16.8 cm. Provenance: From the collection of Gerry and Valerie Bermel (of Travis Antiques. Wellington 1950's to 1986).
