Attributed to Robert Burns (1759-1796) ink on laid paper with very partial watermark to the edge of sheet. A hand written note reads: 'To Riddel, much lamented man, this ivied cot was dear; Wandr'er, dost value matchless worth? this ivied cot revere. Attribution verso reads: written by R Burns sheet size: 12 cm x 18.5 cm the work sits in a fold out folio with the book plate of John Gribbel (1858 –1936) a known collector of Rabbie Burns manuscripts.
