A Staffordshire painted bust of Sir Isaac Newton, early 19th century as found. In the manner of Enoch Wood, the bust of Isaac Newton (1642-1727) modelled as a Roman character, with thoughtful expression, painted in enamel colours and wearing a burgundy robe, and supported on an integral waisted socle, unmarked; after a plaster attributed to John Cheere or Hoskins and Grant, now in the V&A Museum. Height 24.5 cm, width 15 cm
