A pair of antique Chinese ivory emperor and Empress figurines, the serene standing pair in a gentle serpentine pose, attired in highly decorated dress carved and inked with patterns, vegetal and animal motifs in low relief, the empress with an elaborate coiffed hair and holding a ruyi sceptre in her right hand, the emperor carrying his sword and regalia, engraved with inscriptions to the underside and to the sword.
