A George III mahogany long case clock signed Lassel, William Lassel (active 1758-1790), of Toxteth park, Liverpool, circa 1785, the Lancashire type grandfather clock with a carved swan neck and verre eglomise pediment above an arched and strung glazed door flanked by reeded columns, the 13-inch engraved brass dial with Arabic and Roman numerals silvered chapter ring signed 'W Lassel, Toxth Park', within ornate scroll spandrels, the arch with rolling moon scale painted disc, the vase inlaid mahogany trunk with long fluted quarter columns above an extended base upon foliate feet, with original weights, pendulum, and crank.
