A good old characterfully carved Chinese rosewood model of a seated elephant, with a young boy in reverse upon its back. Inlaid glass eyes and bone tusks. On a fitted hardwood stand. Length 31 cm. Note: Unusually portrayed with excess folds of skin indicating the artist had probably never seen a live elephant.
