William Lewis made Cunningham & Cogan breech loading bomb lance gun, manufactured by William Lewis of new Bedford, as described by him in his 'Illustrated catalogue of Whaling Utensils': 'It is 36 inches long and weighs 20 pounds. Bore 7/8 of an inch, standard size, the entire gun is made of the best non-corrosive materials.' as used by George Davidson of Eden NSW Australia from 1910 until he ceased whaling in 1930; with print from Rene Davidson's book
