A late 19thC.French bombe kingwood commode, the red and pale mottled marble top with shaped edge conforming to the bombe base, all in cross banded kingwood with sinuous floral marquetry inlay, the two drawers and front corners with substantial ormolu mounts. 126.5 x 66 x 85 cm. Provenance: The collection of John and Valerie Robertson, Auckland. Purchased in Monaco, circa 1988, from an specialist antique dealer situated adjacent to the track of the Formula 1 Grand Prix. $8000
