A 'Longquan' celadon vase, Ming Dynasty, (1368–1644), Stoutly potted of slender ovoid form surmounted by a short, narrow mouth. The shoulder is surmounted by a short cylindrical neck with a lipped rim, the sides carved with a lozenge pattern above a band(s) of vertical flutes. All beneath the thickly applied bluish-green glaze falling short of the foot burnt orange in the firing, 22 cm high
