A rare bronze 'Bixie' weight, Han Dynasty (206 Bc-Ad 220), the weight is cast in openwork as three winged, free-standing bixie with their jaws open, heads turned over their backs and leaning blow a central mountain. From Kusaka Shogado, one of Tokyo's foremost dealers. These weights were likely used to anchor corners of seating mats and were typically crafted in sets of four.
