A carved Cizhou Guantai 'Lotus' bowl, Jin Dynasty, (1115-1234), the bowl is freely carved to the interior with a lotus medallion reserved against a combed ground. Overall, it is covered in a creamy white glaze that falls short of the foot ring to reveal the greyish-buff body, 20.7 cm diameter.
