A pair of Imperial iron-red and gilt calligraphy bowls, Guangxu period, Qing Dynasty, (1875-1908 ), Guangxu mark and of the period (1875-1908 ). Guangxu six-character mark in iron-red to the base and of the period. Decorated to the exterior with continuous inscription, Zhu's Maxims for the home by Zhu XI (1130 – 1200). Exemplifying the craftsmanship of the Guangxu Imperial kiln, these remarkable bowls also boast a prestigious provenance, having once been part of the esteemed collection of Georg Weishaupt (1906-2004), Berlin.
