Lian Jiang, China, 1818-1,850, a scroll painting of scholars in garden, ink and colour, this scroll originates from the esteemed collection of Walter Hochstadter. A poetic inscription in the upper left corner accompanies the painting. The inscription offers insight into the scene depicted and dates the creation to the autumn of the Dingyou year. The painting presents a captivating depiction of scholars in a garden with trees and rockwork.
