John Degotardi (1823-1882), S.S. Adelaide circa 1870, albumen paper photograph, studio stamp verso, 5.5 x 9.5 cm (image size), Note In 1865 the Parramatta River Steam Company was formed by Charles Edward Jeanneret initially in partnership with Jules Joubert and was incorporated the following year. Its first services ferrying passengers were conduct by the 'Ysobel' and its main vessel was the Adelaide (later renamed Swan).
