A pair of George III sterling silver serving spoons, 1797 and 1798 London, with maker's mark for George Smith (II), the pair of fiddle pattern serving spoons with engraved armorial to the terminals, marked underside and with journeyman marks, bearing George Smith II marks, most likely made by George Smith II although not hallmarked until several years later (George Smith II entered a mark in partnership with Thomas Hayter in 1792), the 1797 one with two cusps on the duty mark (to the right and base), the 1798 one with the duty shape reverted to an oval.
