A Continental gilt bronze Empire style mantel clock, Lorenz Schlitz, Vienna, circa 1820s, the fine bronze ormolu cased mantel clock in the French manner, with a pedestal form case with raised decoration of an urn flanked by a double cornucopia and scrolling foliage, surmounted by a double acanthus leaf surrounded enamel dial painted with Arabic numerals and inscribed 'Lnz Schlitz Wien', with Breguet-style hands, the silk suspension gong striking movement unmarked, raised on a rectangular plinth base with rais-de-c?ur border on patterned toupie feet. Height 37 cm, width 16.5 cm, depth 10.5 cm
