A French gilt bronze and ivory figure signed a. Ouvet, circa 1900, modelled as a maiden standing in period costume reading a letter, with carved ivory head and hands, signed 'A. Ouvet' to the rear hem of her flowing dress and raised on a square stepped stone and brass base. With chips to the right hand and one finger missing, otherwise in good condition as catalogued, height: 26 cm
