A fine Louis XVI period landscape tulipwood and marquetry and gilt-bronze mounted table-a-ecrire, French circa 1770 with later alterations to the top 86 cm wide 45 cm deep closed 71 cm high. Provenance: Probably Charles William Vane 3rd Marquess of Londonderry ( 1778-1854) and Frances Anne, Marchioness of Londonderry ( 1800-1865) and thence by descent. Christies London Works of Art from the Marquesses of Londonderry 22/23 May 2014 Lot 461. A highly significant private Sydney collection.
