A fine Worcester porcelain lobed osier moulded circular plate, painted with the story of the Donkey in a lions skin, from the Aesop's fable, English circa 1770, 20.7 cm diameter. Exhibited: W.R.Johnston Collection East Melbourne. Taking Tea with English Bodies. Note: These fable paintings were first attributed to Jefferyes Hamett O'Neale or Fidele Duvivier, but since they have been attributed to an unknown painter, the sources of some of the scenes have been traced to an illustrated edition of John Gay's Fables
