A rare, stainless steel, 35 mm Omega Niaid manual wind wristwatch, circa 1940's. Cream Arabic numeral signed dial with blackened hands. Domed plexiglass. 16 jewels 30SCT2 movement # 9631075. Case # 10247997. Stainless case with screw back is presented on a brown embossed tapered leather strap with stainless Omega buckle. In working order. Watch only. Case back is inscribed Rl. Harding R N Z N V R. Provenance is likely associated with New Zealand Navy (special ordered) - and presented to a Lt Commander Rl Harding who did active service in Malaya & commanded hallmarked sterling Rotiti 1960-1961. History from the archives would need to be requested. Its rarity is also due to the large, 35 mm Omega ?Naiad? case. The Niaid was launched in 1937 as Omega?s first standard water resistant model and was rated to 20m water resistance,
