Rolex Submariner 'Fap' Ref 1680 a stainless steel wrist watch with date and bracelet made for the Peruvian Airforce circa 1974. Dial: black, red Submariner, luminous dot hour markers, baton quarters, white outer minute divisions, magnified aperture for date at 3, polished Mercedes hands with luminous inserts. Calibre: cal. 1570 automatic, 26 jewels. Movement number: D658697. Case: brushed and polished tonneau form, screw down case back engraved 'Fuerza Aerea del Peru' shouldered screw down crown, bi-directional black calibrated bezel. Case number: 3689016. Closure: Rolex stainless steel 91530 oyster bracelet with folding clasp. Size: 40 mm diameter, bracelet circumference approximately 195 mm. Signed: case, dial and movement. Accessories: none. Footnote. Over the years Rolex has made special order timepieces for various organisations, including military divisions of various countries. These commissions include from the Peruvian Air Force. The Rolex reference 1680 featuring a 'Red' Submariner is the rarest of Submariners, specifically made for the Peruvian Air Force.
