Charles Oudin Paris an 18ct gold openface pocket watch circa 1830. Dial: gold, engine turned centre, black Roman numerals on polished ground, gold serpentine hands, subsidiary seconds at VI. Movement: French gilt brass full plate movement with finely pierced and engraved balance bridge baring steel end piece,verge escapement and fusee. Case: engine turned round, signed inner cap signed Thomas Johnston N4352 Chs Oudin Palais Royal N 52 reeded band. Dimensions: 55 mm diameter. Signed: inner cap. Accessories: winding key. Footnote. Charles Oudin was clockmaker to the emperor and Empress of Russia and a pupil of Breguet.
