An extensively 'Japanned' French fall front secretaire, having four external drawers and many internal small compartment drawers. Also with extensive gilt metal mounts. The ebonised whole having many Japanese style lacquer work vignettes, to the exterior and also the interior. A very fine piece in the classic 'Japanned' manner of C. 1880 France, height 109 cm, width 115 cm, depth 58 cm.
