Victorian Volunteers Regiment (Fitzroy), 1860 Lancaster Sappers & miners carbine. Lock marked 'Lancaster' with crown, butt plate stamped '344 V.V.' for Victorian Volunteers, and further stamped 'F' for Fitzroy. Note: Lancasters were unique to the Colony of Victoria and were often used by the volunteer regiments, and had a reduced oval bore of .568 calibre. 123.5 cm long. No license required.
