An oriental old carved jade pig handling piece, with pierced raised snout, the arched back with mildly raised lineal ridge. Flat base. Mottled variable tone with pale and dark inclusions from pale green to dark red/brown and black tones. Length 5.8 cm. Provenance: Ex. the estate collection of Dr David (Auckland) & M Stephens. Based in Singapore circa 1956 - 1975. David was a passionate and knowledgeable collector of jade, porcelain and Chinese items. He was a member of the South East Asian Ceramic Society.
