A Napoleon III rosewood and marquetry poudreuse in Louis XV style, third quarter 19th century, the top and frieze rectangular with bowed sides, the hinged top with a mirror to its uunderside above a frieze drawer and compartments to the sides, on turned and fluted tapering supports united by curving crossed stretchers, the top inlaid in various woods with a classical design of a vase on pedestal surrounded by scrolls and sprays of foliage and other motifs, all sides of the frieze inlaid conformingly, gilt metal mouldings and mounts throughout, the drawer fitted with a lock engraved 'P. Sormani a Paris / 114 Rue de Temple', apparently a genuine Sormani lock, circa 1860, fitted later to this table, 71 cm high, 70 cm wide, 42 cm deep
