A carved oak hall bench seat by Treede & Prenzel, dated 1897, in Northern Renaissance manner, the panelled back with open screen arms above the hard seat raised on scrolling trestle supports united by a low stretcher, the panel to the back carved with gryphon's heads and foliage centred on a shield incised with the date 1897, the arms with grotesque lion's head terminal, the supports carved in relief as strapwork, impressed to the underside of the seat 'Treede & Prenzel / Sturt St. S. Melb.', 68 cm high, 95 cm wide, 54 cm deep
