A Japanese blue and white porcelain brushpot or planter, Taisho period, circa 1920s, the circular pot or planter with scalloped edge, straight sides, flat lip, the interior glazed in pale celadon, the exterior decorated with underglaze blue design of narrow vertical and curved panels with key-fret and stylised waves alternating with murky blue panels, signed to, the countersunk base with seal form kiln mark. Purchased in 1987 from Glenn Vessa (Honeychurch Antiques, Hong Kong). Height 14.5 cm, diameter 21 cm
