A pair of Royal Worcester tinted parian figures, 'L'Allegro' and 'Il Penseroso', Class 2 shape nos 66 and 67, mid-1860s, each modelled as a classical maiden in long robes standing on a low circular base, the skin and hair in green, otherwise white, each with impressed title to the base, impressed factory marks underside, 41 cm and 40 cm high. Condition: small chip to rear base of il Penseroso and small firing flaw to lower fetsoon of flowers of L'Allegro
