William Ricketts. An important William Ricketts terracotta clay pedestal style sculpture of large proportions standing an impressive 117 cm in height. With a large widened base, spirit hands reaching up to a large central detailed self portrait of the artist, with an Aboriginal elder to his right, imbedded into the large and impressive sculpture. Thew reverse shows a detailed Pitjantjatjara family group with a young Aboriginal girl guarding them from above them. This along side Lot.30 & 64 in this auction is considered to be one of the largest scale works that is privately owned outside the artists Sanctuary in the Dandenongs, Victoria.
