Description:
An 18th century mere pounamu. The spatulate shape reducing to the grip section terminating in three concentric grooves carved to the butt. The blade is fine, translucent and sharp. Countersunk suspension hole. Carved in Kawakawa variety stone with dark inclusions and some natural scarring to the reverse. Length 35 cm.
