Description:
Old Chinese porcelain wide squat circular lidded box, the exterior decorated with white reserve lotus flowers among scrolls and with three famille rose panels, on a blue ground. The lid opening to reveal five compartments decorated in famille rose enamels. Red character mark to the interior of the top handle. Gilt highlights, diameter 18 cm. Provenance: From the collection of Dr David (Auckland) & M Stephens based in Singapore c.1956 - 1975. A passionate and knowledgeable collector of jade, porcelain and Chinese items. Member of the South East Asian Ceramic Society.
